SpeechMike III – Firmware and Speech Control

Philips is pleased to announce the release of two significant additions in support of our SpeechMike III product line!

Firmware

With the release of SpeechMike III firmware version 1.15, we are adding additional capabilities our partners need to generate business. Philips recognizes that SpeechMike III is used in an integrated environment and depends on 3rd party integrators to have our current Software Developers Kit to take full advantage of it. This potentially has left end users with no 3rd party integration with SpeechMike III.

With the release of firmware version 1.15, this is no longer a concern. Now, a SpeechMike III should work in an environment where only a SpeechMike II has been integrated.

  • Continue sales where only SpeechMike II has been integrated
  • SpeechMike II Compatibility Mode
    • Allows a SpeechMike III to be seen as a SpeechMike II
  • Easily switch between SpeechMike III and SpeechMike II mode
  • Speech recognition enhancement – increased switch click suppression

Speech Control
Speech Control version 2.9 provides an extremely enhanced set of Dragon Naturally Speaking commands, which provides an almost unlimited flexibility to end users. 

Speech Control 2.9 provides users of SpeechMike III with close emulation of a PowerMic when used with Dragon Medical. Feedback from one of our testers – “I love the new functionality and feature-wise, does emulate the Dictaphone PowerMic II.”

  • SpeechMike III can emulate a PowerMic II
  • Enhanced set of DNS commands, such as:
    • Next field / Previous field
    • Transfer text
    • Switch to command mode
    • Create new command
  • Support for Dragon: Professional, Legal, Medical – Practice and Network Edition
